Houston's spectacular jazz community is coming together on August 8th in support of bassist Lex Valk, whose wife Mary is battling an insidious form of cancer. The treatment costs have proven staggering, which for a musician without insurance can create an insurmountable financial crisis. Fortunately, friends and colleagues from the music community have hatched a plan.
On Sunday, August 8th, from 5 - 9:30pm, a nucleus of musicians will host an evening of jazz and blues with all proceeds going directly to the Valk family. A few of the world-class artists performing will be Chris Cortez, Danielle Reich, Eddie Lewis, Henry Darragh, Jambalaya, Joe LoCascio & Woody Witt, Northside Jam, Thomas Borling Trio, Tianna Hall, & Warren Sneed.
This will be an incredible musical experience for a wonderful cause. Join us for a $10 minimum donation that goes entirely to the Valk Family. There will also be a silent auction and CDs for sale!
