Online, interactive multimedia, and social network opportunities abound for artists, making it easier and more affordable to get your work seen by the world. That abundance is exciting and, just as likely, confusing. How does a smart artist find the best tools? What are the benefits and shortcomings of blogging, social networks, podcasts and websites? How do you join the conversation in a meaningful way?
FotoFest 2010’s two workshops during their Biennial in March are designed to help answer some of these questions and show what some “early-adopter” artists and art professionals have found. This informal Primer is designed to acquaint artists and other creative individuals to the concepts behind the workshops and the kind of information they will receive. Led by FotoFest webmaster Vinod Hopson, the conversation is designed for artists in all media, photojournalists, media professionals, arts administrators, students, teachers and anyone interested in online and multimedia opportunities.
