"An artist visiting my studio once told me that I was not painter, but that I just drew with paint. Boundaries which once separated painting and drawing are slowly dissolving; what is emerging is a world of mark-making with no boundaries." --- Patrick Palmer
Palmer has shown his paintings in Houston for years, but never the drawings. This exhibit includes drawings and paintings on paper, collages, mixed media, prints, and sketchbooks. Most of the works were created as demonstrations from teaching his advanced figure drawing classes at the Glassell School of Art. Complementing these works on paper are three monoprints created at Rice University, and twelve etchings, printed by Houston master printer Patrick Masterson.
The exhibit runs September 8 through October 5 at HCC Central’s Art Gallery, 3517 Austin at Holman. Please join us for the opening reception, Wednesday, September 8, 6-8:00PM. Gallery hours: M-Th: 9-9 and F-S: 9-3. For information and directions, call 713-718-6600.
