Tend and be-friend your muse in this extended meditative playshop
Explore your creativity with spontaneous, mindful gestures in color and sound. Express your creativity with flow techniques. This playshop provides you the opportunity to experience your creativity directly through sound and color, with full permission to explore your own inspiration, and no pressure to produce a finished product.
We begin with body-centered toning, making easy sounds together that anyone can do. We follow the sounds in our bodies, connecting with sensation. After a guided meditation to connect with your inner source of inspiration, you move to your easel. Using rich, lush colors of artist grade tempera paint, you paint as a meditative process of self-exploration and self-nurture. Painting becomes a simple act of trust; trusting the materials your somatic responses to guide you. Experienced facilitators help you recognize and honor your intuitive cues. All materials are provided. While experience is welcome, no painting or toning experience is necessary. To encourage a safe space for self-expression, no comments or critiques are permitted in the studio.
Previous attendees are encouraged to return and go deeper into their process. Newcomers are welcome. Because this is a meditative practice, each session will be different. Repeating the class brings great benefit.
Bring a lunch. Snacks, tea and coffee are provided.
No experience necessary.
To encourage a safe space for self-expression no criticisms or critiques are permitted.
