The Robert Avalon Competition for Composers Finalists Concert

Through the competition, Foundation for Modern Music honors its late Artistic Director Robert Avalon, who helped develop and initiate several important new projects for the Foundation, including this competition for young, college, and mid-career composers. This year submissions have arrived from all over the US and beyond, and judges include the famed composers Carlisle Floyd (Susannah, Cold Sassy Tree, and many other operas) and Ted Hearne (Katrina Ballads).
