The July heat and mosquitos prompted Houston artists to hold their own backyard themed art sale inside the comfort of Winter Street Studios.
“Strung Out Summer Art” will feature a clothesline hung with paper pieces at affordable prices and a performance by singer Sabra Laval. Participating artists will include Ian Anderson, Kevin Peterson, Kelley Devine, Matt Messinger, Alfredo Scaroina, Lindsay Peyton and Anthony Suber. The show will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 24 in Winter Street Studios gallery’s location at 2101 Winter Street.
“July just gets so hot in Houston that you almost want to avoid doing anything at all, even having an art exhibition,” said the show’s curator Lindsay Peyton. “So I wanted to do something that would be fun and get people out looking at cool art on a hot night.”
