World Peace Day Exhibit - KAXM Gallery-3511 E. 11th St. Heights, Houston, TX

Artist, Barbara Harmer will have 7 of her pieces exhibited at KAXM Gallery 3511 E. 11th St.in the Heights beginning 9/3/10 through 9/30/10.  Reception will be on 9/11/10 from 6-9 pm.

Barbara lived in Japan for 7 years and studied the art form of Chigirie (Chee-gee-ree-ay), which uses handmade Japanese paper that is cut and torn and applied to artists canvas to form a painting.  Although it has the look of  acrylic and oil paint, no paint is used in this process, thereby calling it "Painting With Paper"

Her scenes are from nature, but she has recently delved into abstract art also, as she feels art should be enjoyed in all it's many forms.
