Houston, TX – The Board of Directors of the Houston Center for Photography are delighted to announce the selection of Bevin Bering Dubrowski as Executive Director. Mrs. Dubrowski accepted the position as HCP's Interim Executive Director upon the resignation of HCP's former Executive Director and Curator, Ms. Madeline Yale, who stepped aside from her role as Executive Director in September 2009 to pursue a Ph.D. and act as HCP's adjunct curator. While serving as Interim Executive Director, Mrs. Dubrowski has stewarded HCP and led the organization towards developing a new strategic plan and facilitated new sponsorship and collaborative opportunities in the community. “I am extremely excited about the Board's decision to offer me the role as Executive Director of HCP, and have eagerly accepted. I look forward to leading HCP and fueling it's trajectory of growth. HCP is a wonderful organization that produces outstanding programs and services; it is an honor to accept the position."

Bevin Bering Dubrowski is a sixth generation Houstonian who has a long history of service in the non-profit sector, serving on boards and committees at Trees for Houston, Rice Design Alliance, Tri Delta Art Show for Charity, and the Menil Collection. Before accepting the position as Interim Executive Director, she was slated to go on the Board of HCP, where she has served on the Auction Committee for the past two years. She holds BA in Art History and Photography from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Prior to accepting the Interim position at HCP, Dubrowski served as Director of Bering & James, a commercial gallery in Houston specializing in emerging and mid-career artists. As the Director of Bering & James she incorporated a fine art photography division, curated numerous exhibitions, and developed fiscal strategy. An artist herself, Mrs. Dubrowski also owns and operates Bevin Bering Photography, where she creates fine art and has managed large-scale installation projects for Houston businesses including Minute Maid Corporation and Methodist Hospital.
