On January 28th, 2012 ChiaroScuro presents her first performance, The Other Woman, a staged concert of opera arias and ensembles interwoven with spoken poetry exploring the intrigues of the love triangle through three dream sequences.
The performance features founding members Cristina Carlucci and Katherine McDaniel with pianist Teruhiko Toda, guest artist Alejandro Magallon and poetry written by Katherine McDaniel read by MaryBeth Smith. Musical selections will include works of Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, and Saint-Saens, among others.
ChiaroScuro is the creation of two opera singers, Katherine McDaniel and Cristina Carlucci. Created as an alternative to the academic recital, our performances are unusual and unique musical and theatrical experiences formed by weaving operatic and art song selections with original poetry to explore a theme or storyline.
Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 7pm at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 2119 Avalon Place, Houston.
Admission is $20 at the door. To purchase in advance please go to http://chiaroscurovoce.blogspot.com/.
