Pretention-free art featured at Winter Street Studios July 24

(HOUSTON) This is not your mother’s art show.  Shorts and flip-flops are not only welcomed, but preferred.  Instead of wine and cheese, hot dogs and beer will be served.  Instead of expensive paintings hung precisely on gallery walls, affordable art will be strung on a clothesline.

“Strung Out,” a summer art sale and backyard party, will be held in the great indoors, from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 24 in Winter Street Studios, 2101 Winter Street, in the 2nd floor gallery.  The event, open to the public without charge, promises no sweating, no bug spray and no rain date.

Visitors can still expect great art.  Participating artists include Ian Anderson, Mitch Cohen, Kelley Devine, Jessica Jacobi, Matt Messinger, Lindsay Peyton, Kevin Peterson, Alfredo Scaroina, Micah Simmons and Anthony Suber.  Singer songwriter Sabra Laval will also return to Houston to perform at the event.

“We want people to come and have fun, enjoy the music and buy some art,” said the event’s organizer, Lindsay Peyton.
