Grassroots: Art in Action, a non-profit organization striving to promote creativity and critical thinking in classrooms and communities through collaborations among artists, art educators and community arts organizations, is currently accepting entries for a juried art exhibition to open at Houston Community College Northline Gallery on October 21, 2010.  The call for entry will remain open until Friday, September 10. Artists selected for the  exhibition will be considered for three cash awards.

Artists, teachers, and students 18 years and older are encouraged to enter. A prospectus explaining entry qualifications and procedure is available at www.grassrootsartinaction.org/openexhibition.

Serving as juror is Victoria Lightman, collector, curator, and co-founder of “Looking at Art.”  Ms. Lightman also serves on the Texas Commission of the Arts, the Glassell School's Core Fellow committee, and the Board of Houston Center for Contemporary Craft.
