The Houston Symphony Chorus will be holding auditions for its 2010-2011 season on Tuesday, June 8, 2010. The Houston Symphony Chorus is an adult group of experienced choral singers who perform with the Houston Symphony.
Chorus Auditions for the 2010-11 Season, openings in all sections. Concerts in the upcoming season include performances of the Verdi Requiem, a Pops Knock-out concert of choral-orchestral favorites, and the Texas premiere of Siegel’s Kaddish Symphony. Made up of volunteer musicians committed to singing at the highest artistic level, the Houston Symphony chorus is the official choral unit of the Houston Symphony and has performed on tour in Mexico and Europe.
Other information:
Auditions are approximately 10 minutes long and consist of vocalization, tonal memory, sight-singing and a prepared piece of the singer’s choosing. An accompanist is provided.
This all-volunteer organization rehearses Tuesdays evening at the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music and offers its members the opportunity to perform with the Houston Symphony under the leadership of world-renowned conductors.
AUDITIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
