Cathy Power

Cathy Power, a multi-instrumentalist and actor, is currently a company member with The Catastrophic Theatre. Previous to joining Catastrophic, Cathy worked with critically-acclaimed Infernal Bridegroom Productions for over ten years. Always looking to expand and experiment, Cathy records with the bands, The Seximals and The Truth and Reconciliation Commision, and often performs with string ensemble Two Star Symphony (Best Instumental/Experimental, Houston Press Music Awards 2009), with whom she has worked to score silent films. Among the many highlights of her career are playing Laurie in Speeding Motorcycle, a rock opera based on the life and work of Daniel Johnston, being named "Best Spectacle" in 2001 by the Houston Press for her work as a performance artist, and winning an award for best original song in Houston’s 2009 48 Hour Film Project.
