Ryler Dustin helped establish the Basement Poetry Series in his hometown of Bellingham, Washingotn, edited the literary magazine Jeopardy, and has twice been on the Seattle Slam Team. He's competed on the final stage of the Individual World Poetry Slam and is a winner of the Evergreen Invitational Slam and the Bart Baxter competition. He's also won the Sue C Boynton Award, the Verlaine Prize from Inprint, and twice been nominatd for a Pushcart Prize. He's currently and MFA student at the University of Houston, where he teaches and serves as Assistant Poetry Editor for Gulf Coast.
His book, "Heavy Lead Birdsong," was released by Write Bloody and can be found at Houston's Domi and Brazos bookstores, Bellingham's Village Books, and WriteBloody.com.
